Our sponsoring agency:

Settlement Housing Fund (SHF) is a 32-year-old housing development agency led by Carol Lamberg that has produced 8,300 apartments, retaining ownership through affiliates or partnerships of 20 buildings with 1,323 apartments in Brooklyn, the Bronx and lower Manhattan.  SHF developed St. John's Place Family Center's buildings and continues its active involvement as a source of board members, consulting expertise, funding, technical assistance and other forms of support.

Executive Director

Louis Rodriguez, St. John's Place Family Center's Founding Executive Director, continues to lead the agency 12 years after its founding.  He served as President of the Tier II Coalition of shelters from 1996 - 1998, and is currently a Doctoral student in Social Welfare at the Hunter College School of Social Work and teaches Organizational Theory in their Post-Masters Program.

Each has been with SJPFC for between 6 and 12 years.  Many of our Board Members listed above have also been with us right from the start.  Our Board, led by Frances Levenson, includes experts in the field of community development, low income housing creation and homeless services.  Our board and staff work together to provide effective leadership, but what makes us unique is the great relationship we maintain with our sponsoring agency.
